Artist Statement

Everyday scenes of people around me are what I choose to paint because the greatest beauties and emotional moments of life surround us daily. Women and Children see this world with so much wonder, joy and, at times, sadness and grief. Observing and experiencing these moments deeply resonate within me and I strive to recognize these moments, giving them a voice in my work. When I see these moments I know when I need to capture them in paint. My hope is that as viewers observe my paintings they can catch a glimpse of that surreal beauty found within the normality of our human experience.
