Teaching Experience

Lehi Junior High, Lehi - Student Teacher

January 2024-April 2024

I worked as a student teacher at Lehi Junior High under 2D Art Teacher, Rochelle Lake and 3D Art teacher, Matt Anderson. I worked with my cooperating teachers to develop and implement my ideas, skills, and experiences with various art forms while catering to diverse learning styles and abilities. I gained experience teaching 2D and 3D courses including Art Foundations, Ceramics and 3D art. I grew so much as a student teacher. I enjoy teaching, interacting with and supporting kids at my school. As a teacher I was able to teach course content and hold high expectations for my students while connecting with and supporting them as individuals. In my time at Lehi Junior High, I was able to collaborate with other professionals in the fine arts department, faculty meetings and a district PLC group. Additionally, I planned, prepared, and taught a learning segment that met all the requirements of the EdTPA assessment program. I passed my EdTPA Exam with a score of 55 and have been recommended for licensure in the state of Utah.

Private Art Lessons, Salt Lake City - Art Teacher

June 2018 - Present

I have run private art classes out of a Salt Lake location for the last five years. My students have ranged from ages 8-14 and have learned a variety of artistic skills and mediums in my class. Participation in my class has allowed students to enter their artwork in local and school art competitions, the National Reflections Competition and our own annual Class Show. I have had multiple students win awards within school and state levels for art they made in my class.

I spent one semester working as a volunteer aid and observing Special Ed Teacher, Jennifer Hedrick. This volunteering opportunity allowed me to gain experience working with students with IEPs in a general classroom.

I spent two semesters working as a volunteer aid and observing Art Teacher, Kaydren Kitchen. This volunteering opportunity allowed me to gain experience working with students in Art Foundations, Painting 1 and Ceramics 1.

Studio Assistant for renowned Utah Artist, Caitlin Connolly. Job has included art making and managing within her private studio as well as work within her print shop, Please See Me Press. This job has allowed me to expand my own art knowledge and experience, participate in book making projects and planning for art shows.

Accent Countertops, Murray - Sales Representative

Job entailed work in and out of the office as a sales representative for Accent Countertops. I gained experience organizing spreadsheets and files for the company and double checking prices on past orders. Out of office work consisted of taking sample tiles to various locations, answering inquiries and connecting customers to designers within the company.

Skills and Qualifications

I am an aspiring artist studying art at Utah Valley University. I work in a variety of mediums but mainly in Oil paints. My work is mainly figurative and explores the experiences and relationships of women and children. I have been making and teaching art in a variety of mediums and subject matters throughout my life. I have organizational skills, work well with technology and a lot of experience with creative companies. Past jobs as well as family circumstances have given me a lot of experience teaching and caring for kids from a variety of ages and backgrounds. I have extensive teaching experience through my student teaching assignment and University training as well as teaching art classes outside of the public school setting. I am confident that my skills and experience can translate to fill the needs of any school!
