Student Art Work

Art Foundations

These student examples are from 7th grade students I taught in my student teaching placement at Lehi Junior High. Students were taught through a curriculum based on the UT State Standards for Visual Arts. The curriculum focuses on using the Elements of Art to develop artistic skills and understanding. Each Unit is centered on one element, but students apply skills and techniques learned in previous units as they create more complex art works. Students developed unique projects and perspectives on art as they moved through a variety of projects.

Art Class with Alli

These student examples are from private art classes I have taught since 2018. My students have ranged from ages 8-15. The classes focus on developing essential drawing skills in 2D mediums. The structure of these classes allows students to develop skills with basic elements of design in different mediums. Those mediums include graphite pencils, colored pencils, ink, watercolor, pastels and acrylics. Students choose their subject matter and create things that interest them! Students work with representational and nonrepresentational art categories including landscape work, realistic drawing, collage work,  character design, and whatever else interests them!

Ceramics

These examples are from 8th grade students I taught in my student teaching placement at Lehi Junior High. Students were taught through a curriculum based on the UT State Standards for Visual Arts.  Students learn basic and intermediate ceramics skills through hand building and limited wheel ceramics. Students use handbuilding techniques including using coils, pinch and slab techniques to create unique person projects. Students decorate fired pieces by painting and pouring glaze on their projects. Students learn to throw basic forms like mugs and bowls on the wheel, then carve and glaze to personalize them.

3D Art

These student examples are from students I taught in my student teaching placement at Lehi Junior High. Students were taught through a curriculum based on the UT State Standards for Visual Arts.  Students learn basic and intermediate craftsmanship skills skills for building a variety of 3D projects. This course places an emphasis on studio production, developing higher level thinking, art related skills, art criticism, art history, and aesthetics. Students learn about different 3D art forms and their production methods. Students create their own works that develop art making skills and allow them to express themselves as individuals
